Restorative healing journey and Yoga Training
Healing Through Stillness
30 Hour Restorative Yoga Immersion
Restorative Yoga Training - La jolla (San Diego)
February 6th - 9th
Do you feel or hear a calling to turn within?
If YES, listen and join us on this intentional journey of self-healing.
We are living through an undeniably turbulent time, both in the world and within ourselves, and the need for stillness has never been more vital. You may be feeling the weight of it all—uncertainty, disconnection, stress, anxiety, self-doubt, a deep sense of unease. These emotions, though unsettling, are real and valid. This is a moment calling for inner quiet, a time to turn inward and confront the discomfort with raw honesty.
What is Restorative Yoga?
In a restorative yoga practice, poses are held for longer periods of time, individually designed and tailored to fully support the physical body with a sense of comfort and ease using a variety of yoga tools or whatever treasures you can find around your homes, such as blocks, blankets, bolsters, sandbags, and eye pillows. The focus of this practice is not on stretching and strengthening, but rather on releasing, with the intention of helping us to cultivate the skill of conscious relaxation. Through this release, we can let go of unnecessary habitual tension in the body and mind space and understand the true value of slowing down, self-soothing, recalibrating, and feeling completely supported and at ease in this new-found stillness.
Restorative is a bit closer to a meditation practice than a movement practice - it's a pathway of practicing "meditation" as a somatic, embodied experience. Yoga, traditionally hatha yoga can be just another life practice we over-effort and get caught up in accomplishing, striving, and straining.
Restorative invites you to "do less" and to untangle the web of your body-mind, ultimately creating healthier patterns of being.
This practice enhances our healing capacity by helping us regulate the stress response and rebalance our nervous systems. It is the perfect medicine for our current climate, especially as the seasonal transition from Summer to Fall mirrors this practice and we continue to ride this wave together... The best thing we can do right now... is to take care of our Selves.
This experience can be viewed as continuing education training for yoga teachers, an opportunity to add a few more tools to your teaching/life toolbelt OR it can be an invitation to ALL curious souls to go on a journey within, to expand your awareness and self-healing abilities, to tap into your intuition and instinct, to hone the skill of deep listening and to develop and create a more balanced inner and outer living environment to co-exist in...with a bit more self-love, awareness, compassion, and inner peace.

Facilitator - Gabrielle blachley
E-RYT 500+ with yoga training certifications and continuing education degrees in India, Guatemala, Chicago, and San Diego.
Lead facilitator of over 35 yoga teacher trainings, intensives, and yoga mentorship programs in San Diego, California.
Gabrielle has been teaching yoga full-time for 20+ years and owned a donation-based yoga school - devoted to and passion-filled about her yogic path.
Gabrielle believes that yoga is limitless in its potential to transform and heal our lives. Her approach to teaching is holistic, intuitive, playful, and therapeutic, in which she encourages students to turn inward to the constant fluctuations and transformations taking place with each breath and recognize that each time you step onto the space of your mat, you can begin again.
Gabrielle was born and raised in Chicago, where she was trained to be a professional ballerina, blessed to have her mother as her mentor for many years. This experience set the stage for her affinity and passion for physical expression and the artistry of movement.
An unfortunate injury intercepted her lifelong dream and dedication to becoming a ballerina. But, through this humbling life experience, she found yoga, which would forever change and heal her life, and her relationship to her physical body and mind.
After receiving a BA in Fine Arts and Communications from Loyola University of Chicago, Gabrielle’s free spirit led her to many faraway places like Hawaii, Europe, India, and Morocco, where she lived, studied, and trained for several years exploring the vast world of yoga and the healing arts. It was on this journey, that she heard the calling and first realized she might just be...a teacher, like her Mother (something she denied for years)?!?!
These life experiences and a series of life-altering events challenged, humbled and encouraged her to spread her wings and begin her donation-based yoga school, Monarch Yoga Shala, in Chicago, IL. Founding a donation-based yoga school, was a dream, and through this dream, Gabrielle realized her potential to help and transform people's lives was endless. It was also during this time in her life, as a young mother and business owner that again life challenged her physically, and after a traumatic spine injury, was faced with the reality and challenge of rebuilding her relationship with her body. This new reality as well as several other injuries over time would give her priceless insight and influenced her to pursue a different path as a teacher, one which forced her to fully focus on the importance of biomechanics and alignment. After doing a few online trainings with Sadie Nardidni and working at Catalyst Physical Therapy and Wellness as Yoga Director, her style of yoga is more "anatomy-enhanced," with attention to intuitive alignment.
Being raised by a strong-willed, free-spirited artist and force of nature, Gabrielle always envisioned doing something for women's empowerment. Circle + Rising is a women’s healing circle and collaboration of women empowering women which began as a dharma project that turned into a monthly gathering at yoga studios in San Diego.
Gabrielle is a Transformative Coach and teaches yoga daily at numerous studios in San Diego, leads yoga teacher trainings, facilitates workshops, and hosts international retreats.
Her motto: Show up, forgive, unconditionally love, and fly fearlessly - believing you can always begin again.
